Free Grant Kit Scams - About this Blog

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

A little while ago while browsing the web, some ads caught my eye. These ads had catchy headlines such as 'Claim your part of the stimulus package!', 'I got $20K for free', 'Get Government Grants Free', etc. First I ignored them, but I kept seeing more and more ads and similar sites popping up.

A little more research left me astounded by the sheer amount of opportunistic scam artists that apparently quickly realized how the bailout programs and economic stimulus packages set in motion by the Obama administration provided them with a convincing, appealing advertising platform for their dubious 'services'.

They do not refrain from association by suggestion through the display of images and videos of President Obama, as well as logos from and quotes by major cable news networks, in an effort to convince their target audience that what they're looking at is the real thing.

All of these grant kit sites operate in similar fashion. They advertise themselves as free, but they are not. They all make deceitful promises ('testimonials') about being able to assist you in getting government grants for US$1,000 ... US$23,000 ... US$265,000 ... They all want you to believe that their 'kit' is key to obtaining thousands of dollars in government issued grants. They all prey on the less web savvy, the gullible. And in these dark recessionary days, they all prey on the weak, the unemployed, those with little hope left.

But I am web savvy, and not so gullible.

For many of us, this is a time to reinvent ourselves, stand by each other and work towards the common goal of making our country a better place for all to live in. Hopefully this blog will be one of my small contributions towards this common goal.

I could have simply ignored these 'free grant kit' sites, knowing these are scams, and move on. For a couple of weeks, I did just that. But then I started reading posts by people that actually fell for them. People that were taken advantage of by these shameless, greedy con men. People that used a last bit of money in the hopes of getting their own personal bailout in the form of a government grant check that would enable them to get back on their feet.

So, I am not ignoring them any longer. These companies and their web sites should all be exterminated and where possible the people that run them should be held accountable.

I have some plans, and I am determined.

Let the games begin.

i think they should all be rubbed underfoot like a dirty, filthy, stinking cockroach. I think all online predators with all of these b.s. scams should be called out and held responsible. I do not care for any of them. I myself would just like five min. alone with the f@#k nuts responsible for this crap.

I applaud you. I have been unemployed for 5 months and have had only 3 interviews - nothing. Depressed actually. Then I started seeing all of these people on TV and the internet tellign me that I can claim all of this "free" govt.money that is out there. I got really happy and did my reseach (for just a few days) and now I am dismayed. The fact that I had to buy a kit or membership and join anything got me suspicious. These preadators and those ridiculous phony pics of people w a big stupid sign saying "I just got my $25,000" w a stupid grin on their faces make me sick. They should be shut down. If anything I am trying to see if I can get free training from NJ Unemployment (which would be the LOGICAL place if the Govt. wants to contribute free money) but alas I can't seem to get any info on that either. Sigh. Freaking recession.
